Women Advisory Council:

Community Initiated Solutions

  • Program Purpose

We are bringing together trusted Muslim and Arab women to name community challenges, choose priorities, and co-design culturally rooted programs and solutions that improve mental health, family health, belonging, and sisterhood within our community.

  • Expectations

    • Attend one council meeting each month, in person or hybrid.

    • Help plan and attend at least 3–4 events each year.

    • Share ideas, identify needs, and help shape programs.

    • Help host circles, outreach, or community conversations as able.

  • The Challenge

    Real challenges affecting health

Women and families Identify and name mental health strains family stressors: identify causes to social isolation, exclusion, and lack of sisterhood and belonging. Prioritize ongoing challenges that affect overall health and well-being.

  • Build

Council builds solutions for a connected community where women, youth, and families feel supported, valued, and able to contribute meaningfully to the well-being of their families and the wider society.

  • Rooted Solutions

The council creates a structured way for trusted women to choose priorities, co-design programs, and guide supports that are culturally rooted, practical, and led by the community itself.

  • Test it

Design and help host peer circles where women with similar life stages can build trust, share struggles, and support each other. The WAC brings together women from communities south and north of Denver to strengthen families through supportive relationships, purpose, and culturally meaningful programs.

  • Strengths to Actions

Help women identify strengths, roles, and small community projects where they can contribute in meaningful ways.
Co-create cultural and social inclusion events that strengthen belonging and bring families into wider community life.

  • Reframe and Regroup

Advisory members will also give feedback on program design, help with outreach, and surface the most urgent needs affecting women, youth, and families.
