Celebrating Stories, Culture, and Community: Blossoming Trees Hosts Muslim Author Event at ICB

Blossoming Trees, in collaboration with Minaret School of Colorado, was honored to host a heartwarming Muslim author event at the Islamic Center of Boulder (ICB). The event brought together about 20 families for a joyful evening of storytelling, cultural connection, and community spirit.

Children gathered to listen and engage with beloved children’s author Hannah Alkadi, who captivated them with her storytelling and insights into the writing and publishing process. The excitement didn’t end with the story—kids had the chance to bring the book to life through hands-on activities inspired by the story’s themes.

In celebration of the Lebanese breakfast featured in the book, children made their own labneh sandwiches, decorating them with olives and cucumbers, and even stuffed dates with almonds—a sweet treat they proudly served to their parents at Iftar time.

Families also had the opportunity to purchase signed copies of the book and take memorable photos with the author, making it a truly special evening for both children and parents.
